How this average is calculated

This is a Great Britain voting-intention average. SNP and Plaid Cymru figures are shares across Great Britain, not within Scotland or Wales. Each party uses only the selected polls reporting it separately; missing figures do not count as zero. Other is reproduced as reported and can cover different parties in different polls, so the displayed averages need not add to 100%.

UK Decides takes the most recent qualifying national Westminster voting-intention poll from each pollster in the latest 30-day window, then calculates an unweighted arithmetic mean for each party. Each pollster therefore contributes once, regardless of how frequently it publishes. No house-effect adjustment, sample-size weighting or seat projection is applied.

Why the pollster counts can differ: The current average uses the latest qualifying poll from each pollster over a rolling 30-day period. The historical monthly table uses polls conducted within each calendar month. A pollster included in today’s average may therefore not appear in October’s monthly figures if its latest qualifying poll was conducted in September.

Tap a party in the legend to hide or show its line. Hover, tap or focus a point for its value. Each monthly figure uses only polls reporting that party separately. The dashed Restore Britain line joins its reported monthly figures across missing months; values for those missing months have not been calculated. Other parties retain gaps where figures are missing. The Other category is omitted because its composition varies between pollsters. Historical figures may change as gaps in the source records are filled.

These monthly figures are calculated from the UK Decides database using one latest qualifying poll per pollster in each calendar month. Each party is averaged only across that month's selected polls reporting it separately. The count under each figure shows its coverage; a dash means no figure is available in our records. As the historical database is still being expanded from primary pollster sources, earlier monthly averages may change when additional verified polls are added.

Methodology

Why one poll per pollster?

Some polling companies publish much more frequently than others. Using only the latest poll from each active pollster reduces the chance that one company’s methodology dominates the average simply because it releases more surveys.

The 30-day window keeps the average reasonably current while allowing slower-publishing pollsters to remain represented. If a pollster has no qualifying poll within that window, it is not included until it publishes again.

Every underlying poll remains available in the polling database, with its fieldwork dates and original source.
