Restore Britain is one of the newest parties represented in the House of Commons. It was created by Rupert Lowe after his departure from Reform UK, beginning as a political movement in 2025 before becoming a registered political party in 2026.

Origins in 2025
Lowe had been elected MP for Great Yarmouth as a Reform UK candidate at the 2024 general election. Following his departure from Reform UK in 2025, he launched Restore Britain on 30 June 2025 as a political movement and pressure group.
During its initial phase, Restore published policy material and sought to build a national network rather than immediately operating as a conventional electoral party. Its stated themes included lower taxation and a smaller state, tighter immigration policy, national sovereignty, energy security, cultural conservatism and direct democracy.
Becoming a registered party
The Electoral Commission records 20 March 2026 as the date on which Restore Britain was registered as a political party on the Great Britain register, authorised to field candidates in England, Scotland and Wales. Lowe is recorded as party leader.
Pollsters began including Restore in some Westminster voting-intention surveys during 2026, although treatment varies between polling companies and not every poll prompts for the party separately.
A history still being written
Because Restore Britain is a very new organisation, its history is necessarily shorter than that of the established parties. The important distinction is between its first phase as a movement in 2025 and its later status as a formally registered national party in 2026.
