Your Party is a new socialist party that emerged in 2025 from discussions involving former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, MP Zarah Sultana and activists seeking to establish a national political organisation to the left of Labour.
Launch in 2025
Corbyn and Sultana publicly announced plans for a new party in July 2025. At first, “Your Party” was described as an interim label while supporters were invited to register and take part in a founding process. The Electoral Commission records the party as registered in September 2025.
The early months were also marked by disagreements over organisation, membership and leadership. Those disputes highlighted a broader question facing the new party: whether it should be built around prominent parliamentary figures or around decentralised member control.
The founding conference
The party held its inaugural conference in Liverpool in November 2025. Members voted to retain the name Your Party and adopted founding documents covering its constitution, political programme and organisational structure. Delegates chose a collective leadership model rather than a single party leader.
The party’s Central Executive Committee was subsequently elected by members in February 2026. Its official material describes the CEC as the party’s highest elected body, responsible for staff, resources and day-to-day political strategy within decisions taken by the wider membership.
Political identity
Your Party identifies itself as socialist and member-led. Its programme emphasises redistribution of wealth and power, public ownership, stronger public services, housing, and trade-union and community organisation.
Because the party is still at an early stage of institutional development, its longer-term history will depend on whether it can turn activist support and parliamentary representation into a durable national electoral organisation.
